my name is Petra. I'm new to this site and hope to find lots of support.

I will have my band surgery on December 9th. Next week I have to go see the Nutrionist and I guess start my pre-op diet. I think I will go with the Optifast. I'm hoping to loose 120 pounds and get my blood pressure under control. I would love to hear from anybody on their progress with the lap band, does and dont's etc.:rolleyes2:

Congrats and best of luck with your upcoming surgery. I, too, am just starting out. My first appt with the surgeon is 11/26/08 and hopefully with the psych and nutritionist soon thereafter. Looking forward to starting the New Year off right. I have about the same amount to lose. Seems overwhelming at this stage but just think how we'll look this time next year :rolleyes2:. Can hardly wait! All the best.

It sure does seem like a lot to take in at once. I am a little worried about eating after the banding.

My surgery date is also Dec. 9th and will start my preop diet on Thanksgiving Day. Wishing you both Gods Blessings.
