Gadgetlady, The Watcher, and all in between...

OK, we have about 5 debates going on about the presidential elections, and two things are really coming out of it all:

One: We have some sharp divisions in this group as far as opinions go.

Two: On November 4th, either McCain or Obama will be elected president.

My question: With the various viewpoints, what will we do.

To those on the right (middle right, far right, etc) - what will you do if Barack Obama becomes president?

To those on the left (middle left, far left, etc) - what will you do if John McCain becomes president?

To all: What can we do to gain some unity in our country.

Note that, no matter what, there will be politicians, judges, reporters, bloggers, etc., who will make waves long after the election (saying this, people are still ranting about the 2000 elections).

But it is up to the individuals at the grass roots to make unity. So the question: How can we get there?

(sorry for stealing from Lloyd Benson in the vice presidental debates of 2000)

You accusin' me of being Quayle, man?!? Because I call spell much more worser than Mr. Quayle!

Of course I'm not accusin' you of being a Quayle. You know exactly how many "E"'s are in the word Potatoe :blink:

Besides, even to call you Quayle is a compliment about your ability to survive (stay with me here)...

Quayle sounds like Quail - the bird that Dick Cheney likes to hunt. They are such smart birds that, if you let them out of a cage in the middle of a group of hunters, they can trick the hunters into shooting each other!

(OK... that was a long way for a very bad joke.... I am sorry) :)

Beth - Quayle spelled it "potatoe"; thus Steve's joke above!

That was good, actually!!! My nuclear family's anti-gun. My parents used to joke about how people needed guns to watch out for the "killer quail" so it was esp applicable to me!

(Everyone-Pls don't get into the 'right to bear arms' mess. I was just telling a personal story!)

Beth - Less than 2 weeks til surgery! Figure out now what protein shakes you can tolerate er stomach. Get it? har har. I didn't take into account just how much I would need for 3 weeks of liquids so I've gone shopping more than I had intended to. My two cents.

SnT & Beth - not sure if i mentioned this, but my FAVE Protein shake is muscle milk... it is pretty high in fat / cals but it's very filling.... i drank it daily when i was working my ass off at the gym....

regular = 2 scoops - 300 cals 12g fat 32g protein

lite = 2 scoops - 195 cals 6g fat 25g protein

(personally, i'd just do the regular for the variety)

if you dont want the regular, they do have a 'light version'

the regular version has a BUNCH of flavors - my fave was probably peanut butter/chocolate and Mocha Latte...

cake batter was WAYYYY too sweet

the light has fewer flavors and i've never tried them, but i've heard they are good!!

i bought mine thru Bodybuilding.com - CytoSport Product Listing - On Sale! Lowest Prices For CytoSport! FABULOUS customer service, fast shipping and good prices... (not affiliated, just happy customer)

but i know Vitamin Shoppe also has it - im sure GNC does too...

Thanks for the two cents. :blink: I actually spent hours on here a few nights ago trying to find out what people thought of different protein shakes. Lots of ideas, but I did order some sample packets of the Unjury ones. I'm supposed to start my liquid/protein diet this coming Friday. IF my freakin' insurance company will get off their asses and finally approve this thing... Should have happened 10-12 days ago and still waiting. They "lost" my paperwork. Nurse thinks she should get the okay Monday, but Tuesday are a lot of pre-op things that, if I don't have the okay yet, won't be covered. :)
