I am new to this process. My first appointment is 10/29/08. I am excited to start my journey. This site is a great support and I hope to utilize it frequently. I am a mother of 3 and a wife. I have been taking care of others for so long; including my terminally ill sister, that I believe taking care of myself is going to be a big challenge.

I am new to this site also. I was banded on Mon. Oct 20. It is such a good feeling to be on my way to a new life. This was the best thing I have ever done for myself. good luck to you.

Hi BGirl. Welcome!! You will love this site. Keep reading posts and asking questions. There are lots of very nice people here who will give you answers and support. I have made many friends here and I haven't been here that long. It is nice to talk with people who know exactly where I've been, where I'm at, and where I want to be. Many of us have taken good care of others, but not ourselves. It takes some getting used to ..... but..... it is nice!! You deserve to be taken care of - and after you get used to taking care of yourself, then you can move right on and start spoiling yourself!!! Oh my!! Good luck to you. If I can do anything to help you out, let me know. Becky

I want to have the surgery but I am so nervous

I can understand being nervous but it was so simple. Of course it is a lifetime commitment but worth it. I am so glad i did. I know it's been only a few days since my banding but i think about the future and how much better i will feel about myself after I lose weight and it makes me smile. I have and still am doing a lot of praying for strength. research and read everything you can and empower youself with knowledge and that will help. I had my banding in Mexicali Mexico;Dr. Aceves and i couldn't have been happier. Everyone was absolutely wonderful. So keep writing because this seems like a wonderful place for help and support. Good luck and God Bless.
