November 10 date!!!!

After 6 months of jumping hoops, I finally got approved and hve my surgery date set. My problem is that they want me to lose 14 pounds by then. Any ideas? I've been going to Curves and doing the Slim Fast thing, but the scales won't budge.

Yeah, do Phase 1 of the South Beach diet for 2 weeks. No cheating.

I lost 12 or 13 pounds in 10 days. And felt satisfied and full!

I just went to half price book store and got this little thin pamplet for like 4 bucks and it gave me the list of all the foods, etc. It works. After the first two weeks of phase one you can go to phase 2 and stay on that until your surgery.

My dietitian says no slim fast....way too much sugar. If you're going to drink a shake find one with less than 6 grams of sugar and less than 160 cals.

Hello everyone! I just had to stop into this posting because I TOO HAVE A NOVEMBER 10TH DATE!! WOO HOOO!! I have such a mix of emotions about this whole experience, as I am sure many others do as well.. I start my pre-op diet this coming monday (10/20) THREE WEEKS AHHH..When does you guys start your pre-op diet?

I started mine on 10/1. My surgery date is 10/21 so I was 3 weeks too. I thought 3 weeks was going to be awful - the first day was the hardest but the first day was also the most eye opening. I realized just how much I ate for no reason. When fixing the kids' breakfast and their lunch I would just put food in my mouth. Then I would eat my own. I would snack during the day then cook dinner and pick while I was cooking, then eat, then pick at the kids' lefts overs then pick while I was cleaning up. It was so eye opening for me. I am 15 days in now and I have struggled and I have had urges to just break down and eat but I have not. You can get through the 3 weeks and it goes by faster than you know. Good luck on everything for you.

I've found EAS whey protein mix and shakes. What a wonderful find! Lunch sure is easier to pack these days. I've lost 4 of the 14 pounds the first week and have increase my days at Curves. Thank you for the tip on the Slim Fast sugar. I hadn't realized just how hungry that made me. I feel satisfied and hopeful.

Good luck to other starting this pre op dieting. I just try to remember that it is temporary. Three weeks does go faster than you think.:D
