Hello Everyone--
I've been reading this site for months and finally decided to join. I met today with my surgeon, Dr. Michael Wood, just outside of Detroit. I've been vascillating between gastric bypass and lap band, but have decided on banding. I like that it's less invasive, has a shorter hospital stay and a quicker recovery time. My doctor thinks I'll do well with either surgery.
I'm excited, but nervous. I, like many of you, have struggled with my weight for so long that I sometimes feel like it's not possible for me to lose even a pound. I must admit that I'm afraid of failing on the band.
I'm glad this site exists and that there's a community of people that have gone before me and had success.
Best to all!
