hick-ups then nothing

I was eating and while it may have not been the right choice in foods (rice) it was a very small amount. BUT I got the hick-ups, I tryed drinking Water but they just got worse, then I had one big one that hurt and then it was like poof... I have no restriction now. Can the band just open up or break off? I know I need to go see my Dr. but right now that is not a choice. I am on vacation in Egypt and will not return for over a week and then I have to jump through hoops just to see him. I am not in pain but can swallow a bit of meat whole and it goes right down.

Freaked out!

I'm sure you're fine. You don't say how long you've been banded, so I'll assume it's been at least a few weeks. I often get the hiccups when I get something 'stuck', then it goes away, the food goes down and I can continue eating normally again. Sounds like this is what is going on with you. Perhaps you are nearing the time for a fill.

Been banded since May 19th. Thank you for the comfort. I have been on edge ever since it happened. I am starting to feel the ristriction again and have never been in any pain. Glad to hear from you.

Good. Well, I forgot to mention also that rice gives many people problems for some strange reason. Everyone has their 'list' of problem foods and I think you can put rice at the top of yours. People are often surprised at the foods that give problems....like eggs, Pasta, bananas, melon, etc. These things are soft and mushy but yet they still cause problems!? So when you have these issues just pay attention and next time you eat this food proceed very slowly.

Good luck to you!
