Hello

Hi Everyone, my name is Patty and I had the lap band august of 2006. I started at 279, size 24/26 and my original goal was 180 and hopefully a size 12. Currently I am 170 and a size 10/12 and couldnt be happier with my body!

I am a traveling nurse, currently in Ft lauderdale, fl. I am looking for a doctor here, just starting here for help. Let me know who you are using and who to stay away from. I think I need just a tad removed from my band....I have not been doing well with my eating lately, not sure if its stress or the band? Anyway, glad to be here amongst friends.

Hi, I haven't been banded yet I am scheduled to get banded on the 18th of this month. Tomorrow I start with the shakes and I am really nervous. I was thrilled when I found out I can finally get it done but now I have been reading horror stories and I am scared what do you think? It sounds like you are doing well what does it feel like to have the band inside of you. Do you get sick a lot?

The band is there, I can feel it but its not bothersome,,,,maybe in the future I will have it replaced with the new lower profile one. I do get sick some, usually just poor food choices on my part. Good luck with your surgery, let me know if i can help

Oh,, and I almost forgot,,,this was the best decision I ever made and would do it again in a heartbeat! Yes, its not always easy, but ooh so worth having my life back! I know the scary part,,,I was scared and this website made it worse for me. this is the fist time I have been on here in almost 2 years!

Thanks for your reply and yes this website sometimes worries me because of the bad experiences but I think I am focusing on the negative rather than the positive. Right now I am a size 20 and I hate it. I want to slim down some I am so tired of living like this. I appreciate your honesty and encouragement. Sounds like you are doing and feeling great. I just hope it will work for me like all the others and you. Good luck in find a new doctor in Ft. Lauderdale. Watch out for Ike that is coming.

psticern....do you know when the new band comes out? ive been thinking about that and thinking..."great...im gonna get a band and then they are going to come out with a new one" ? would you wait if you were me?

corvetterol,

I got my band feb of this year. it is also one of the best decisions for myself also. I have not lost a lot and that is because of me. I finally realized this is a tool. It still requires work on your part to make the right food choicfes. I think you will really appreciate it at the end of the day.

Congratulations on your success!!! To not only have met your goal, but to actually exceed it is quite an accomplishment. :0)
