Hi everyone!Im new to this site and would like to introduce myself!MY name is Heather (dUH!LOL). I had my surgery April 29 2005 and have already lost over 30 lbs! I am so excited living my "new" life-I am recently engaged to my wonderful boyfriend of 5 1/2 years, and have already gone down a size in clothes! I am already so much more confident then i have been in years.This surgery has already been a miracle for me. I have had a few problems-my port is still painful but is getting better and i had a fill last week which made me sicknd I couldnt eat anthing but liquids...but,considering what Ive read that have happened to other people--I guess its not to bad! I am very excited to meet other people who have had lap band surgery!

Hi Heather,

Thanks for introducing yourself, it is a pleasure getting to know you. Congratulations on your success so far. My port annoyed me for months after surgery but is hardly noticeable now. Best of luck to you, Teresa

Hi Heather!! Welcome to LBT!!! My port hurt me for a few months after. But it is allllll worth it!! isn't the weight loss fun? I love my band!!

I go tomorrow to AIGB in Richardson. I am so excited to have found this forum. I am on the lower end of the BMI 35- 195lbs. I will be a self pay but am afraid I may not qailified. I have beeen over weight my entire life and recently developed hypertension. Surely I will not have to eat my way up another 25 lbs that I recently lost (on another fad diet) to become elidgible.

Any Feedback would be appreciated!

Wow!!Thanks for such a warm welcome everyone!!Im so glad i found such a great group! I love my band and i would never give it up for the world!=) Losing weight the HEALTHY way is great. Ive done it unhealthy many times before but now i feel better then i have felt in years! I just bought a pair of capries (i havent worn then...well,ever!),and i bought a smaller pair and didnt try them on figuring theyd fit--they were too big! Thnaks again everyone for such a great welcome.i wish everyone the best of luck!
