Hey ya'll!!

Hi everyone...newbie here! Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Cari, live in NJ, and just began the process to getting Lap Band surgery. I've got 5 months to go before it can happen and I am thrilled and nervous about this whole thing.

I'm wishing everyone out there great success on their journeys!!

Hi Cari!

I live really close to you in Jersey. I have one month left of the 6 months preop required by insurance. If I rushed it, I could have the surgery by the end of this month. I'm going to wait until October to make sure the kids are well settled in school and the routines are in place for them in case my recovery is harder than I anticipate.

Who are you using? I'm going to Nussbaum at St. Barnabas.

Hi Carolanne, where in Jersey are you? I've just started the pre-op requirements by my insurance and am hoping that by Jan/Feb '09 I'll have my surgery. I'm using Dr. Goyal in Hoboken. I've read great things about him but don't know anyone else who's used him. I'm totally nervous about this all but very excited to start a new, healthy life.

I'm in West Orange. I know at least 2 people who have used Nussbaum, both for bypass and were very happy with him and with his office. Good luck on your journey and don't get discouraged with the waiting. What a great way for you to start the new year!

Carol Anne
