I need your help and need to know if anyone else is feeling the same pain as me.

It started a few weeks ago...I started to feel like I was having back pain. It would just come on suddenly. I could be making dinner, walking around the mall, sitting and watching tv. It hurts right in the middle of my back and in the middle of my chest.

What I have since discovered is I don't think it is my back after all. I think it starts in the middle of my chest...in the area where I imagine my band is. It is HORRIBLE pain and it shoots right thru to my back. You should also know I am not eating when this happens.

Most of the time it last 15 to 30 mins. I can get rid it most the pain with a heating pad, a very hot bath or medication...advil, aleve and twice it was so bad I had to take one of my left over pain pills.< /p>

Since it goes away I keep forgetting to ask my doc about it...I am calling Monday after this mornings episode. I just can't keep going thru this pain. Please tell me if you have had anything like this.

I thought maybe my band had slipped but when I look up the symptoms of band slippage it doesn't look like what I am having. Thank you for any comments or advice you can give me.

Robin

SophieKitty,

Thanks for your reply...I do still have my gall bladder. I look up gall stones online and the symptoms seem exactly like mine. Sigh...

I will certainly ask about that tomorrow...I never thought that could be the problem.

Gallbladder!!!!!!!!!

That was me about 5 years ago. I had the problem for about 2 years before I figured it out. It would be around for 2 or 3 days and then be gone before I thought, I should see some body about this. It was and intense pain straight in the middle of my abs like under my ribcage area. The pain was so intense it felt like it was trying to come out of my back. Hot showers were the only thing that made it go away. Until I got out of the shower that is. I ended up having emergency gallbladder surgery on the day I was suppose to be seeing a doctor about having it removed. I did have a sonogram and they said they could see gall stones.

I had gallstones about 6 years ago. I had the pain just under the area between my breasts and it would radiate out to my back. Nothing I did made me comfortable when I had the pain. Then all of a sudden without warning the pain would go away. Prior to having the gallstones, I lost about 25 pounds. I went to see my doctor about the pain, she saw that I had lost weight and concluded that I had gallstones. She sent me to have an ultrasound and they found gallstones. It was the first time I had surgery and I was so scared to have surgery. But by the time the surgery date came around, I was so happy to get that sucker out. I was have pain from the gallstones passing a couple times a week. Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
