Vegetarian

After my surgery I plan on returning to a vegetarian diet. I wanted to hear from anyone out there who is a vegetarian or changed to being a vegetarian/vegan after the op.

I'm interested in how legumes and pulses go, passing through the band, if anyone's had any problems with it.

Thanks.

Michelle

For those who can access yahoo groups, I've come across for specifically for people who have had WLS and are or are considering being vegetarian/vegan.

vegetarianbandster : Vegetarian Bandsters

WLSVeggies : WLSVeggies

veg-wls : Vegetarian Weight loss surgery

If you can't access the groups, don't worry. I will join them and I will share here what information I find out.

one of the groups was full of spam, so I have now deleted it.

I do pretty well. I eat lots of nuts, Beans, pulses, legumes and tofu (oh, and a stack of fruit & veggies)

I never had any real issues with any foods, mostly because I never had a really tight fill. So perhaps others with a tighter fill might have found some foods harder to eat.

Hey!! I'm planning on getting the band in the next 8 months or so..

I'm "somewhat" of a vegetarian. I only eat chicken that is boneless and skinless. Other then that I don't eat any other meat including any fish. I'm a very very picky eater.

I plan on making sure I do get my Protein in post lap band surgery though..

good luck:rolleyes::biggrin:

I have not had any problems with these foods listed going down. I eat all that plus the tofu and meatless products.
