wondering if this is typical?

Recommended Posts

I just had my third fill of one cc, giving me a total of 7cc. My restriction prior to this fill has been moderate. After this fill this morning I could drink slowly and could feel the increased restriction. But, this evenning i am having a difficult time drinking anything. I seem to be producing a lot of siliva and feel I am swallowing air. it also feels like I have an egg in my chest. I am I beleive Pb'ing which seems foamy and then liquidy, sorry if this is gross detail. I am wondering if I am to tight or should I give it a day or two to settle down. I would call my doctor but I figure there nothing can be done untill tomorrow. It is just rather uncomfortable. Does anyone have any insight?

Thanks, Liz aka hairyday

Hairyday (heh!), I just had my fourth fill yesterday -- by Dr. Ren -- and went from 5.5 to 5.9 with this fill. This morning, I could taste my medication for a good half-hour or more until everything dissolved and finally went down. I've been drinking an iced -- very cold, in fact -- latte, and so far, so good. So to be having issues with saliva and pbing sounds like a red flag.

I am curious and concerned (I'm sure we all are) to know what happened, now that three days have passed since your first post. Did you get a slight unfill? Have things gotten better on their own? I had my surgery a month before you did, also with Dr. Ren, so I almost feel I know you personally, lol! For all we know, we may have seen each other in her office.

I'm the fat one, by the way. :crying:

I have now had my third fill and I know all about foam . . . I seem to have the most problems when I eat something and then follow it with liquid. It was so bad one day (sorry, this is gross ) that I had to stand over the toilet and just keep burping and spitting out this clear liquid slime. I guess this is the early digestive juices working their magic!

In any event, I found that the tightness has loosened up overall. I am now able to eat an egg and cheese Breakfast sandwich (only half the bread) as long as I take really small bites and chew well.

The biggest lesson I have learned is not to drink when I eat. This is when I get that feeling of having something stuck in my chest as well as the dreaded slime . . .

Good luck.

Thanks for all your replies. I am doing well. I went back to the doctors and they removed .5cc and i felt better. I still have a good amount of restriction, but atleast now I can swallow Water. I did loose 6lbs in one day, but I expect those pounds to come back once i get my fluids back.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
