Introduction

Hi all. My name is Gina, I live in San Antonio, and I am getting banded 08-19-08. I am really excited about this as it has taken me 3 years to get a date.

I actually started looking into it in 2001 when my, at that time, 2 year old was diagnosed with a rare disease and I had to quit work; which meant no health insurance. In 2005 I started a new job, met the requirements, went to the seminar, only to find out that the insurance company only covered a total of $3000 for WLS in a lifetime. That went out the window. I changed jobs in 2007 and submitted the info with my new insurance company. I was denied. My case was turned over to Obesity Law, and I was approved on July 29. I had an abnormal EKG on Friday, and will have an echo on Wed. So as long as that turns out ok, I will be banded on Aug 19, 2008.

Gina,

I'm so proud of you for persevering through all of that! With all of that go-getter-ness, I'm sure that you'll be able to make the band work for you!

Welcome :)

Gina~
