Two weeks post banding

Recommended Posts

Started on pureed food today. Had half a scrambled egg and two bites of cooked cauliflower. I know that is a weird combination, but that was all I had on hand. Any ideas for meals during this period of pureed food?

Also, can anyone tell me when you can start exercising other than just walking? I am not sure if I can start now or need to wait until four weeks post surgery.

I am 4 weeks post op (meet w/ my surgeon tomorrow). At this point I am walking 30-40 minutes a day and only able to stand in the pool now that my incisions have healed (no swimming)after my dr's appt. Both exercises are so invigorating and provides a great sense of relaxation.

I was told to choose 2T. Protein and 2 T. pureed veggies or fruit for a meal. Here are some ideas from the classes I took:

refried Beans with a little sour cream and salsa

mash up a hard boiled egg with a little light mayo for a soft egg salad

ground up chicken, ham, or tuna with a little light mayo

soft fish

Beans or bean Soup

soft cooked veggies of your choice. If you can mash it with a fork, it's good.

applesauce

pureed canned fruit of your choice

a little oatmeal with a tablespoon of smooth Peanut Butter stirred in

I don't get to start this until Wednesday, can't wait! Hope this helps.

Thank you, yes those are some good suggestions. I also have a pool and the doctor said I can swim after 3 weeks. I can't wait cause it is in the 90's here today in California.

I envy you the pool! I used to love to walk in ours when we had one.

Oh, and don't forget cottage cheese! I'm having DH pick some up for me tomorrow in anticipation. :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
