I have been getting utis chronically. I do everything I am supposed to do, like getting up to pee immediately. My daughter told me that if we were to use condoms, that would take care of it.

We are both in our 50's and there is no way either one of us could make a baby but I am wondering if that is what is causing the uti's . I have always been told by all the doctors that bacteria gets shoved into the urethra.

I go and see a urologist next week, and I will ask him this question. I was just wondering if anyone else finds using condoms cuts down the UTI problems.

I used to have a UTI every few weeks with with ex of mine. We never used condoms. I've also had them with other partners from time to time. Now I am a little bit older, wiser and know for certain that husband and I do not want to have children, we use a condom every time (as well as me being on the pill - yes, I'm paranoid, but do not want to have to even consider going through an abortion). Since being with my husband I have never had a single UTI. I strike it totally up to using condoms and the whole going to the bathroom straight away combo.

You can only try it and see if it helps!

Thank you! Man, I hope it's that simple. If condoms gets rid of this chronic pain, it's a small price to pay. He won't be very happy he has to use one, but he is not the one in pain.
