New to Site

Hi, I am back online to this site. I started about a year ago but did not care for the doctors or their set up so it's taken me a year later to get it together enough to try other doctor's. Anyway, I have my paperwork in but have not heard anything yet.

I am 53 years old, married to my best friend for almost 30 years. Two children, two grandchildren and one granddog. My family is very important and love spending time with them. I have a great support network with family, friends and church family.

I have severe arthritis and have been disabled for 5 years. Unable to walk, work and everyday mobility has brought me close to 300 lbs. My life took a total change when I could no longer walk, I have to use a walker and a scooter to get around. I am tired of not being able to live my life to the fullest and sitting on the sidelines. That's why I have resorted to Lap Band surgery. When I am able to lose 75 lbs. I hope to be able to have my knees replaced and then get back to a normal life style.

I need a lot of help if anyone wants to contact me, I also would like to have recipes and figure out what to expect after surgery.

I love to cook, sew, play with my grandchildren , attend church activities and was pretty active prior to the health problems after the 100 pound weight gain these last 5 years.

I am in Jax Fla and have gone through a little set back - I was over 240 last Sep 17th and I am at 187 - should be to my goal of 150 already but I got steph infection in my port and it was removed so I just got it back in and hopefully I will be back on the weight loss roll like I was before - I work in a hospital every day - we do so many of the lap bands and I never see problems - go for it and love the feeling of seeing the scale go down. I am praying for your fears. Good luck and do it for yourself and no one else. linda (mimiinjax)
