insurance approval in 1 day!

I started this process in June... My paperwork was submitted to my insurance company on Thursday and I got word on Friday 7/18 that I was approved! I am so excited. But also worried... What if I should have asked for RNY instead? Is it difficult to follow all the rules with the Lap Band?

Im sure that you will be fine. What insurance do you have? I finished all of my stuff in June and my insurance was trying to be a pain and demand a psych eval even though not in the policy that i would have to, well my surgeon tried to file paperwork thursday without a psych eval just a letter from surgeon stating that I never had any psych issues and got immediate approval, im was in shock and thought about calling the insurance company just to hear from them the yes but im afraid they will see something and change there mind lol. I have aetna primary which was the one giving issue and blue cross secondary. You will do good. do you have a surgery date yet?

;)

First I want to say WOO HOO!!! Congratulations you are so very blessed to be approved by insurance and so quickly. About RNY vs. Lapband. There are just as many rules if not more with RNY. One of my best friends had RNY 4 years ago and did fabulous on it but now feels like maybe her tummy is stretching. She said she kinda wishes she had something like the options for fills.

What I have heard is if sweets are your thing RNY may be a better choice because of the punitive consequences. (You dump)

I just wanted to make sure that you knew that there are really similar rules with both but probably more exclusions with RNY but faster weight loss.

No matter your choice... CONGRATS!
