Keep a close eye on the port. Some people notice pain as time goes on that goes away, but I had pain that started around that time post op that within days was followed by redness and swelling with some drainage...needless to say it was an infection. Easily treated with antibiotics then good as new but be careful. The port is a foreign body so your body is already in shock having it there and may be fighting hard to figure out what it is and working less hard on avoiding infection.

I had port pain for a few weeks after surgery. A pulling, bruising, tight sore feeling. They sew your port to a muscle with stitches and this can make it sore for a while. As long as it's not infected, your pain should diminish!

I agree with Nursienicole. Once you are sure it is not an infection, then try wearing a snug fitting abdominal binder or girdle. This worked wonders for me !

I had port pain for the first month; I went for my first fill 4 weeks after surgery and I was so worried about it hurting, because my port site was still so tender. Funny thing is, not only did the fill not hurt at all, but within a day or so, my port pain went away for good.

Ten days post-op though, it really hurt if I was sitting at a desk or driving. The only thing I can suggest (and you're probably already doing this) is to try to avoid tight waist bands. It should start getting more bearable soon!

Mine feels much better when standing as well. I have been getting up a lot at work and just pacing around to ease the port pain for a few minutes every half hour or so (I'm prob driving my co-workers crazy).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
