well, i finally took the first step and went to the seminar & i made my appointment for my consultation that night [with dr. wynn in newark delaware]. i was just wondering what goes on at a consultation. i know this may seem stupid, but it would ease my anxiety about the appointment.

I am going to a seminar on the 15th and am wondering the same thing. What happens at the consultation?

At my consultation they took my height, weight, bp and a full medical history. I also had a EKG and my labs were done. I met the surgeon and then the nurse also came in and they explained the procedure to me, what to expect the day of surgery and we went over the pre-op and post op diets. We also discussed my insurance and I was told I have great insurance.:lol:I was nervous going in but it was very informative to me and there is nothing to be nervous about. If you have questions make sure you write them down. I had a page full and took my dh to ask any that I may have forgot.:party:

My consultation was 3 hours long. First the checked my weight, height, and blood pressure. They already had my medical records, so that wasn't an issue. The first hour I had to watch a video from Discovery Health about the surgery (very good video). The second hour was the surgeon telling me about the surgery, the risks, and answering questions. The third hour was the nurse going over paperwork and all the things I have to do before I have surgery (like Nutritionist, Pshychologist, bloodwork, Support Groups, Educational Classes, and much more).
