Still restricted...still swollen?

I'm 4 weeks post-op, starting week 5 tomorrow (banded June 11th) and I am still feeling restriction. I'm on pureed, I start solids tomorrow, and with half a cup of food I am very full. I'm also not really hungry in between meals (mostly fighting head hunger). Of course, I am happy about this! But, I've heard that with everyone else the swelling goes down and restriction goes away until the fills begin. So my question, am I just lucky or can my stomach still be swollen like after surgery?

I was kinda like that too........I felt very satisfied for 5 weeks or so then slowly began to get some appetite. I think it's both a little luck and swelling...........I say we just enjoy and not question it! LOL I get my 2nd fill next week. Looking forwrd to it.

I am 4 weeks, started on week 5 today and like today I can get full on 2-2.5 oz of chicken or hamburg and a 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes and stayed full for about 4 hours..... I am hoping that I stay that way....

My surgeon said that some people who are banded can have restriction just from the band that is why he doesn't fill during surgery or for 6 or more weeks after..... I am not even going to him till the 29th of July.

Of course we need to remember that we are still healing for at least 6 weeks.

Good Luck!!!

i'm gonna say you are lucky. i could eat as soon as i was allowed and had no restriction. just had my first fill yesterday and still don't feel restricted. know i need to stay positive but am feeling very sad and disappointed. had surgery may 23 and have only lost 15 lbs.

good luck to you!
