It's an aquired taste. I hated Diet Coke the first hundred times then liked it. I did no like Diet rite either but stayed with it because it doesn't have aspertame and learned to like it. Same with Sprite zero. You won't like it at first, but if you want to continue, it will taste better to you. I had to hold my nose to drink Scotch, but I did learn to enjoy it.

i don't like 'diet' cokes, but diet/zero/normal post-banding I can only drink a few sips before I want water.. but as for Sprite Zero, it's always my drink of choice if I have to have a coke. It tastes just like Sprite to me, just make sure it's cold!! I think this is where personal preference comes in, or what you eat normally.. Diet cokes are horrid to me :/

As for nausea, I like to sip on Ginger Ale..

IIRC Sprite Zero uses splenda, which I personally can't tolerate very well. It's worse than aspartame for me for that all day diet aftertaste -- and I mean ALL day. If I have something with it, I still have the aftertaste eight or so hours later.

YMMV, of course.

Sprite Zero is pretty good to me. I like the zero stuff they have out there, as for the drinking sodas <shrug> I just shake em up  Good-Luck!

LJM at this point, if you are nauseous enough I would just go for the real thing baby. Sorry, yeah, that was beyond lame. But seriously though if you are feeling sick you are only going to be sipping it anyhow.

I like Sprite Zero but not Coke Zero - I'm absolutely a diet coke addict (yes I an pre-banded). I never liked Diet Sprite - always thought it had a yukky bite to it. (Can I use more dashes?!?)

My 2 cents, losin'!

I like Sprite Zero. It has less of a fake artificial sweetener taste to me than other diet sodas. I used to drink a lot of diet soda before the band. My doctor says it's OK to have it with the band, so I have one once in awhile. I don't crave it like I used to though, but when I do crave it, it's Sprite Zero I want now, instead of Diet Coke.

Sprite Zero is not bad. Has a bit of an after taste but it is okay once you get used to it. It should be an okay alternative to regular tastewise.

I've personally tried them all because I threw up during both of my pregnancies. Every day until the day my boys were born actually. Anyway, I must say that Diet Canada Dry Ginger Ale was a favorite. I don't think it has that bitter bite that the zero products have. Just my opinion but I think it really helps settle your tummy. My doctor is fine with soda and the band so I still drink one soda a day. Good luck finding one you like.

Ginger Ale is for upset tummies b/c of the ginger root it has in it. Other sodas dont do anything really unless u "THINK" it does. I have not had any soda since my band and i dont miss them much eaither.... 53lbs lost tells me i dont need the crap. best of luck with ur upset tummy.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
