New to the Group

Hello All! I just got banded on June 20th. I joined June 12th, but did not post because I was afraid that I would chicken out and not get the surgery. For me the surgery was a breeze. There was no pain at all, only a little soreness. When I broke my foot last year I was in much worse pain. I was up and moving around directing the movers what needed to be loaded up on a moving truck (I time everything perfectly). I am very excited for my new self and life. I have already learned so much from this site, and I look forward to learning more!

Hi

Got lap band on 4/28/08 I have only lost 12lbs in 2 months I am very disapointed. Anyone else having same problem?? I went twice to have band adjusted, I thought I would have lost a lot more weight by now.

I am also very hungry. I try not to eat and watch portions, But I am still starving,

thanks

Schuyler

I know exactly how you feel. I was banded on May 20, 2008. I had my first fill a week ago (2.5cc), but I still feel like I can eat as much as before my fill and I am hungry all the time. I will cross my fingers that it only gets easier.

Are you keeping a journal of what you consume and totaling calories and Protein? I was just banded on 6/25 and I'm going to start keeping a journal tomorrow so that I can show the nutritionists what I've been eating in case my weight loss slows down.

They also said that the journal is a good place to keep track of what foods don't do well and short notes on "feelings" for the day.

I'm not really a journal person, but I think this might help me while on this journey.
