Share you Pre-Op & Post-Op Lessons Learned?

Hello Everyone -

My surgery date is next Wed. 6/25 (woo hoo!). :redface:

For those of you that have been banded, would you like to share any "Lessons Learned" for what you did - but wished you DIDN'T one week before and two weeks after surgery?

Thanks for your input!

I am not one for HYPE...but I did succumb to it a little.

The bag I packed....way too much. All you need is sweats - leave the bra at home ladies!. Bring deo/toothbrush & paste. I didn't even do my hair... what for!

And when I got home I was very thankful I prepared. Frozen meals and cash for pizza- when you are a single parent!

Plenty of drinks, too.

And then ensure you get your scripts filled BEFORE surgery so that you will have them after.

Heating pad I used once

Protein powders I trashed after a few weeks

This procedure isn't that difficult {compared to others}

I only packed what I had on and my Ipod so I could have music (I had a roommate from hell so this was a good thing) when I went home I went home in what I wore to the hosptial- I didn't use pain meds after my surgery no need- surgery on Monday, home tuesday, hung out on Wednesday, and back to work on Thursday- This was truly easier than I ever thought it was going to be.

I was one month post op on June 19th and currently can eat anything I want, I did liquids for 5 days post op, than a week of mushies and than real food.. I am lookiing forward to my first fill in july.

Best of luck to you-
