Hello to all

Hi everyone!

I have just found out about this website today and loving it so far,

I am planning on getting the band in mid-july and have arranged to pay for it myself,

however I was thinking of going to Mexico and paying $7000 instead of $16500 in atlanta, ga, has anyone being banded in mexico, if so how was the experience, hope to hear from someone

A colleague of mine went to a surgeon in Denver and paid $9,000.00. There are many members that had wonderful success with surgeons in Mexico but it was very important for me to have a surgeon that was available to me within a few hours of contacting him with a problem. I also wanted my Dr. to be involved with my long term care and be readily available when I was getting fills or had questions and concerns regarding my band. I know that others have that relationship with their Drs. in Mexico...but my Dr. is down the street from my office.

Cranberry, I had my lapband performed by Dr. Bagnato in Albany, GA. My only comment about Mexico is you might have a lot of trouble finding someone to do your fills in the Atlanta area. Most of the doctors won't see you if you were banded somewhere else. Check the Georgia link and see what some of them have to say about fills.

Good luck.
