Hello there

Hello, it's nice to be here, my name is Milly and I'm due to be banded on the 23rd of June. I'm originally from Scotland but I've lived in the middle east for 30 years now.

I first enquired about having a band done almost 15 months ago but I didn't follow through with it given I was still convinced I could lose 100 pounds alone. A couple of weeks ago I just woke up one day and faced facts, that no amount of trying to go it alone was going to work and that I'd ahd enough of thinking each day was going to be the day I would finally get my head around losing weight the conventional way. So off to the surgeons I went........and the rest is yet to come.

I can't say that I'm exstatic to be having the band done, I still wish I could lose weight without it but I know I can't so all I'll say is I'm at peace with having it done.

I read on another thread about pre-op diets, well I don't have to do one either. I think it all depends on the state of your liver when you have your ultrasound done, if your liver looks large you do the diet and if it doesn't look large you dont have to. I'm going to be doing one though, I think I have to in order to show myself that I can.
