Anyone else close to being under 300lbs????

I can finally see 200's in my future!!! It's been several years since I've been below 300 and it didn't last long on previous attempts, but I'm feeling pretty confident this time with my band it will be different! I hope I'm right!!!!

I've been doing good the last 2 weeks... doing exercise and following rules!!! Anyone else want to join me in the short term goal of getting rid of the "3" being the first digit in our weight?????????

Tess

Yes, it will be fun. My nephew is so much fun! He is just a joy to be around. I know these early years with him are precious and I'm taking full advantage of the time I have wiht him now.

It will be hot in San Antonio, but I'm used to it since I live in TX. I'm hoping that there will be food in the theme parks that I can eat...surely there will be some healthy options.

Hello,

I am new to this experience. I was banded on 6/25/08 and have lost 20.8 lbs. I am just .2 from see the 200's. It has been a week and I have lost nothing. I am so frustrated right now. I am having two Protein shakes a day and a cup of Soup. I go for my first fill on 7/21. Is it normal to stop losing so quickly. Yesturday was two weeks for me.

Russost, yes, I do believe it's normal to hit small plateaus. You recently had the surgery and have lost almost 21 pounds! That's great...your body is just trying to catch up. Just keep doing what you should be doing and you will start losing again. I hit a plateau about 3 weeks after surgery. My doctor told me to not focus on losing weight but to focus on letting my body heal and changing eating habits...I did that and didn't get frustrated about the lack of weight loss. Before I knew it, the weight started coming off again. When you do get under 300, we'll celebrate with you!

Welcome Russ

Sounds like your doing great!! You'll be in the 200's before you know it!

Thank you for the support! You guys are doing great. How did you eat the 3rd week after surgery? My doctor told me to eat 4-6 times a day, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, beans, potatoes, etc. soft foods, and protein shakes. I get the worst stomach aches when I eat soft foods, I have 2 shakes a day and eat one cup of soup and I feel better. I get my first fill on 7/21. I know I need to heal but I am afraid to eat that I will gain weight. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

On my 3rd week I was on pureed. I ate a lot of Protein puddings, shakes, and if I could put what I fixed for my family in a blender and add chicken or beef broth to thin it down I did it!!

I also loved crushed ice... I am a cruncher and I needed to crunch! So I did crushed ice covered with crystal light, cranberry juice or orange juice for a refreshing taste!!!

I couldn't have real food until I was 6 weeks out. I have to admit by that time I was pretty board with the liquid phase and I turned to ice cream and frosties (not a good idea)!

Hang in there, I know its tough but you will be on real food soon!! My doctor wouldn't fill me until after 6 weeks and actually I've only had 1 fill and it was at 8 weeks. I think I need one now, and I have an appt in 2 weeks.

I might be under 300 pounds as I type! I'll find out for sure next Tuesday. When I went to my 2 week post-op appointment, I weighed in at 303 pounds! I was 328 3 weeks earlier on the same scales! I have had hubby hide the scales so I don't weigh in every day. Tuesday will be exactly 1 month after my surgery, and I don't care what the number is as long as it begins with a 2! That is my next number goal! This would be the first time in YEARS and I'm hopeful!

My Wii Fit already has me under 300, but since the balance board sits on carpet I've found that it weighs about 5-7 pounds lighter than my doctor and home scales. So, I use it for BMI but not weight.

Hi Everyone, When was banded in 12/26/2006 I was 335, I got down to 289, and then I had a baby and lots of stress(baby born 11 weeks early) So Im starting over, I was 338 when I had my band filled(7/14) again(was empty while I was pregnant). I was so happy to see this thread because many times I have been made to feel I was to 'large' to be banded. So Ive lost 1 lb so far...38 lbs to the "2"'s
