Hi Newbie with questions

I think I posted my response in the wrong thread so I'll start here.

I wanted to have gastric bypass surgery but now that I went to my initial session, the band is starting to sound like a better choice. I'd like some input especially for people with Diabetes. My BMI is 43 and I'd like to lose about 110 lbs. I'm just learning about lapband and would love some input

Hi Lady,

I was banded last October and started with a BMI of 44. I wanted to lose about 150 pounds and so far I have lost about 80. This band has been the best thing for me. Like you I am also a diabetic and wear an insulin pump. Before the surgery I was taking 3.25 units per hour. Now I am down to .7/hr.

Good luck,

Jonathan

James,

Gastric bypass with adjustments? I'm confused. Do you mean you had the lapband procedure?

Thanks.

Also, those of you who are banded, are you still hungry all the time?

I am concidering the gastric sleeve with Lap Band International. which doctor did your surgery and how did it go?
