I got two and gave one to my daughter. I had to have mine replaced twice within 3 months my daughter still has hers. Then I gave up and got a sdmall personal blender from wal mart hamilton Beach about 15$ and I love it.

I am glad you found this forum. There are lots of people that can give you good advice and a few q....well lets say to avoid. I have heard that 5 to 7 incisions are fairly common. I can amagion they could look like stab wounds. I have also herad of staples and glue closures. Its good to hear you are doing ok and I hear it gets betterevery day..I wasn' crazy about the protein drinks until I put splenda in them it really helped or a sweetner you like. They say the solder pain is gas.

the gastric sleeve is surgery that removes 2/3 or more of the stomach,leaving a long tube like smaller stomach. there are several advantages and disavantages. there are no fills, no slipage or erosion with the sleeve, however it cannot be reversed. hello, I'm sorry you are having problems with your Tricare. Your are on standare and sometimes it is easier because you can chose any surgon that will accept tricare and if you are prime you can't. There is a lot of information here about tricare on here. Sorry I can't help you more. Good luck.

I think and hope that my childred would look at THIS Man and would ask if he is qualifity to be a good President and if he'll change things for the better..And not even notice his color. Maybe we should all be colorblind/

I am concidering the gastric sleeve with Lap Band International. which doctor did your surgery and how did it go?

I take 13 pills a day. Some I have switched to liquid or chewable I checked with the pharmacist to see which ones could be crushed and some need to be cut but all will be ok. ou can just call your pharmacy. Good luck. Before you know it, you'll wonder why you worried.

DNI, i AM FROM jACKSONVILLE. That's n. Florida. We have Tricare Prime. We are in Ticare South region. I have talked to several people about the requirements for the lapband surgery I have even read it in their mannual and it only sayes the 100 ponuds over limit. Unless they have changed it in the last 60 days. My surgons office even checked into it. I am alsovery close to the 100 pounds. But now that I"ve weighted in I shoul be good to go. But I"m still waiting to be banded.

Hi Robert sorry you are having c hewing problems.. I too do not have the best of teeth. I went out and bought a mini food processor or chopper, there are many on the market and as low as $9.00 this may help with your problem..Good luck. Linda

IndioGirl55, well I guess it has been a year since you joined..I am just getting started and am still waiting for my band. I have read a lot of your post and the wornderful help you have given others.. You have given me more than the words you have typed on the paper. So thank you.. And by the time you read this may you have lost thoes last 3 pounds.

What really surprises me is that your doctor or his office didn't repair you well ahead of your surgery as to what yo would need to do. One of the first things my Doctor (Surgeon0 told me was that he was going to educate me about what was going to happen and what my part would be. Give Him another call.

did you file an appeal? I know you said earlier that you were denied, or did your doctor just resubmit? I am in about the same boat you were. My weight is just a little under but I do have high blood pressure and I am diabetic.

Finished all lab and EKG and x ray, have my phy evel the21th still waiting for nutritionist. The doctor sayes I'll make it but I still don't think I'll be approved..Still hoping, but having it done either way...

i only have one thing to tell you; DON'T GIVE UP. If you're going to be self pay,get on with it. I'm sure you have done your research. The reason I am telling you this is, I HAD two brothers. one was only 36 years old the other 59. Both died the same year. weight related.

JUST A SUGGESTION.. GO TO LAP BAND FORUM BY STATE AND SEE IF THERE IS ONE IN NM. THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO HELP YOU. AS FOR ME i'M HERE IN FLORIDA.

I just talked to a lady yesterday that had lap band surgery and her insurance was cigna. And now her daughter is having it. We are in Florida. Good luck

I hope you don't mind if I jump in.I'm not quite 60 yet but real close to it. I was reading all about your weather. I think it would would be nice to cool off once in while. I live in Fl. and it has been 85 on my back porch for days now, I will probally melt this summer. I hope to get some of this fat off by then. Good luck with the cold.

Here's my openion about the band. I have not yet been banded and I am hoping and waiting. My only regret will be; why didn't I do this a lot sooner!

I agree, but crappie is not the word I would use. There are lots of people that would love a chance at this surgery but just can't get it..I would almost stand on my head in the mud for it. Still waiting to qualify..
