what you also need to understand is 98% of patients need somwhere between 5-8 fills before they hit their "sweet spot". The initial 2-3cc's entered is to "prime the band" if it hasn't been done during surgery. This is a LOOOONNNGGGG journey!

I was banded in mexico on 5/22/08. I met 3 ladies who had been banded the day before. One of them had a 14cc band and the doctor filled it during surgery with 10cc. It was explained to me that US doctors fill very little either bacuase of cautiousness or greed. But this doctor did not want the women to become discouraged by that so he filled it initially so she would be restricted and start losing weight in a relatively shorter period of time.

My first fill was 2cc in my 10cc band... only one more week till my second fill, WAHOOOO!

No fills yet I have a 8cc band. I did ask my Dr what is his normal amount of the first fill. He said 4 cc is this to much for a 1st fill I thought maybe 2cc.
