I think things are back on track for me once again. I was originally scheduled for surgery on May 21. I was so excited. Well, the Monday before last I ended up with an awful pain in my mouth. By Tuesday I was in the ER and on an IV with antibiotics. Wednesday was a trip to the dentist so that he could refer me to an oral surgeon to have an abscessed wisdom tooth pulled. While all this was going on, I had a call into my surgeon who ended up cancelling my surgery until the tooth was pulled and I was healed. While I understand the reasoning behind it, I was still very, very disappointed. I was so focused at that point with only 1 week to go before surgery. When the surgery was cancelled, I felt everything was pulled out from under me and I was right back at the beginning again. I had my appointment with the oral surgeon on Tuesday (the day before my surgery had been scheduled). He was awesome. Got me in on Friday. I ended up having 2 wisdom teeth pulled. I have very little pain at the moment and feel pretty good. He is sending a letter to my surgeon telling him that I will be good for surgery any time after 2 weeks. I figure I will call the surgeon on Wednesday and try to get another appointment set in stone. I can't wait. I've kind of been wandering around lost during all of this, but I finally feel like I'm getting that focus back again. I"m thinking now it won't be until the end of June though. I have to tell you though, I'm getting very, very sick of protein shakes as I have been on them all this time and will continue to be until the surgery.
