Help, Im struggling here

Friends,

I was banded on 3/18/08 and have lost 26 pounds. My problem is that I have not lost any wieght in the last three weeks. I am watching what I eat and getting in all my protein. I also go to the gym three days a week for an hour minimum each time. I think I have hit a plateau and I dont know what to do. Struggling to stay motivated....Help.

Because you are exercising you are probably gain muscle and losing fat even though the scale isn't moving. Also, try a cheat day everyonce in a while. I usually try once a week to once every two wee

Don't pick a junk food item. Pick something that will not cause cravings...nuts, higher calorie cheese, butter to a meal. I didn't do a cheat day, but these are the things that I had to add to my li

I would just like to add that I track all the food/calories/protein I eat everyday. I stay under 900 calories on most days. I do go over once in awhile.

I would not lose well on 900 cals per day. That's probably too low, expecially if you are regularly exercising.

Try 1200 cals per day and see if you start losing.

Also, I agree with the others but don't call it "cheating" as that's a negative term. Once every couple of weeks I have a day where I aim for 1500-1600 calories instead of my usual 1200. I find it pretty easy - a glass of wine for dinner, for example, or regular ranch salad dressing to dip my raw veggies in. I almost always drop an extra pound doing that.

Dr. strongly suggests only 1 oz at each meal (3 meals a day and 3 Protein shakes)

Let me guess - your doc primarily does gastric bypass and is treating his band patients with the same diet. :wink2:

That would be my bet. My doc ONLY does lap band and he STRONGLY forbids Protein shakes! Nothing with liquid calories.

Well Friends,

I got my first fill last Wednesday and now i have lost another 3 pounds after not lossing for three weeks. My doctor told me that 900 calories was too much and that I needed to stay under 800 for now on so that is what I am trying to do. I am pretty successful staying under for the most part but some days I have gone slightly over.

what are your doctors suggesting for caloric intake??
