Finally Banded!!!!!!!!!!

I got my band yesterday. I am having very little pain. The only pain that I am having is at the port site. It hurts alot. I am guessing it takes a few days to get better. How long did it take you for your stomach to not be hurting?

I am not banded yet so I can't answer you, but I saw your post and just wanted to say hellelujah! and congrats! Good luck to you on your new life.

Well.... hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it will probably hurt for more than a few days! That port sight is the worst part of the whole process and it hurts for a few weeks. But each day it gets a little better so you can assure yourself that tomorrow it is going to feel better than today and the next day will be even better! I remember feeling pretty close to normal in that area about a month after surgery. Congrats on your surgery and hang in there!

It is very sore for at least 6 months. You have to remember it is an object put in your body that was not there before. Your body has to get used to it. Make sure you keep a close eye on the port insition because that can get infected. I have a band friend that had her port replaced because the area would not heal correctly so the Dr. removed it and let it heal then replaced it with another one. Everyone's body is different but I have had my band for 1yr 1/2 now and I can push on it no problem with no discomfort. You just have to let your body heal in time but make sure the insition isn't oozing or bleeding. Be very careful and don't lift anything heavy for awhile.

It will be tenter to touch for the first couple of months. Your body has to heal inside as well as the outside.

Congrats on your band journey. I love my band and keep on this site for support. It really has been a lifesaver for me. I have also met band locals in my area threw this site.

Hey there proud-dad. I had my first fill yesterday and I am having no problems. My port area is not sore at all. I am on a liquid diet for 2 days and then pureed for 2 days but after that it is back to normal - whatever that may be post fill. I had 2cc fill yesterday. How about you? Did you do the flourscope? It was amazing to watch.
