Gas/Indigestion??

I was banded April 10th. I've been getting my walking in and honestly haven't had too much gas, until today. I feel like there is a huge weight on my stomach/chest. It's not doing much gurgling. Boy would I'd love a hug burp! This feeling is miserable. I've heard of gas a few days post-op. Is it unusual to have them a week post-op?

I was banded the same day as you and suffered really bad gas pains for the first few days, I know it's not uncommon to get them as late as a week afterwards but I can't explain why! I can however tell you that I managed them with painkillers and by lying down with my feet raised, a bit different to some of the other suggestions I found on here. Hope this helps! Feel better soon

I had the same thing happen to me and it didnt start until a week after surgery. I was banded on 4/7 and the pressure finally relieved itself about 5 days after it started. Basically, it started last weekend and I noticed it was gone by Friday (yesterday). Now all I have are hiccups. I hiccup when I eat or drink something. That is all for now. I think I am over the hump and now all that needs to happen is for my incisions to heal. I noticed this morning I have a little piece of one stitch sticking out. My post-op visit with my doctor is on April 24th.
