  1. My doctor told me that I could continue to eat right after the fill, which I thought was odd since most doctors will put you on liquids for a day or so. I ate some eggs this morning and so far, everything is going well! I will let you know how things go a few days later.
  2. I was banded on 4/7/08 and have lost 20 pounds...I lost 15 pounds within the first two weeks lol I just hope that I will fill some restriction, but not much because my birthday is this saturday!! lol I was concerned with the size of my band. I want to lose a little over 100 pounds to get to my goal, so I hope that is something I can reach!
  3. I had my first fill this morning and everything went great! My doctor was done before I could realize it, which was nice (I dont like needles at all). The good thing is that I do not see the needle so that fear does not start! lol Question One: My band is 4 cc. He filled me with 1.5 cc today and the band was not filled during surgery. Should I be concerned that I will not lose all the weight that I want to lose? I started going to the gym on Wednesday, but I am concerned. Any ideas? Thanks!! Pam :rolleyes2:
  4. I started back on pills after four weeks post-surgery. I waited until all the minor aches and pains went away from the surgery (minor pain at the incisions was the last pain that I felt). Everything stays down with no discomfort. Your doctor is just being causious. I had to get back on my allergy meds.. My eyes were killing me! Lol
  5. If you weren't scared crapless, I would think something was wrong with you! Lol I was scared, excited, nervous..all the above because it was something new. It has been 18 days since my surgery and have never looked back. Trust me, this is a good thing for you! You will do fine! Good luck!
  6. I have hit a wall as well. I have been at 16 pounds for almost a week! I am not doing anything any different, so I have no clue! But I am not upset, I had my first post-op visit yesterday (the 24th) and scheduled my first fill on may 22nd! Im so excited! That is two days before my birthday and I can't wait to see how much I have lost my then! I was banded on april 7th.
  7. I wasnt able to sleep on my side for almost a week after surgery. You will be able to soon!
  8. I was banded on April 7th and one day, I woke up on my belly. I tried to lay down on my belly on my stomach and it hurt where my port is, so no such luck there (this was tried last night). I can sleep on my side and on my back..but LOVE sleeping on my stomach. The day that I can do that comfortably, will be a day to remember!! Hope everyone is having great success with losing the weight they are wishing to lose!
  9. I wouldnt worry about it the first time. Dang, a four week pre-op liquid diet? I was on mine for three days prior. You can do this!! Just remember that! It will be worth it in the end. Good luck with everything!!
  10. I had the same thing happen to me and it didnt start until a week after surgery. I was banded on 4/7 and the pressure finally relieved itself about 5 days after it started. Basically, it started last weekend and I noticed it was gone by Friday (yesterday). Now all I have are hiccups. I hiccup when I eat or drink something. That is all for now. I think I am over the hump and now all that needs to happen is for my incisions to heal. I noticed this morning I have a little piece of one stitch sticking out. My post-op visit with my doctor is on April 24th.
  11. Since start of pre-op diet, I have lost 16 pounds. Pre-op 4-4. Banded 4/7.
  12. No my stomach is still a little sore so I wont be hitting the gym for a few weeks, at least. My doctor told me to wait like 4-6 weeks before hitting the gym. But do whatever your body is telling you to do. I would wait a little longer just to make sure your incisions heal a little bit more.
  13. I went to my favorite Mexican restaurant and had tacos and enchiladas, since tacos might be a tough item to eat once I had the surgery! It was the best. 16 pounds down since my pre-op date of April 3rd, 13 pounds since my surgery on April 7th. Im happy to say it will be worth it!
  14. Best wishes on your surgery! I was not sick when I had my surgery, but was sending you a note of best wishes! I was just banded on April 7th! Good luck with everything!
  15. Hey, I have a question for those who got banded early last week. Are any of you starting to hurt where the incisions are? Not a bad hurt, almost like a healing hurt. I have been experiencing this for the past day or so and meant to ask about it sooner.
  16. Are you eating and drinking? I will try to drink about 3-4 ounces of gatorade 30 minutes before eating and I will usually eat a few bites and I am done, however my stomach is still growling, I feel full. I just did this for lunch and had about 5 small spoonfuls of my soup and did not feel like eating anything else. My stomach is growling a little, so I will eat a few more bites when I feel hungry. Mind over matter. I am so used to eating more that my mind is telling me that I am hungry.
  17. I am hungry as well but it does not take much for me to get full. I started on cottage cheese over the past weekend. Beastbron--How much are you eating at each time?
  18. I am having a hard time with Protein as well. I drink one ensure a day (started that yesterday) and the soup that I have has a little protein as well. I am mainly focused on not getting dehydrated, so I am trying to drink as much water/gatorade as possible. I have heard but not looked at personally, that the atkins protein shakes are fairly good. But like I said I have not tried them, but I will soon and will let you all know, if you want to know.
  19. Today has been the best day so far for me. I am not as sore and the heartburn that I have been experiencing has decreased in intensity but today i felt like there was a brick on on my chest, right below my breast bone. It didnt hurt, it just felt like pressure on my stomach. But it did go away after a few hours. All I had today was gatorade, ensure, water, and some chicken soup broth. I feel that I can drink more, just a week after surgery.
  20. I weighed myself this morning and have lost 12 pounds since my surgery (on 4/7)!! I was very excited..Congrats on your weight loss DEE! It is such an amazing feeling to know that I will never be back at that weight again! This is just the beginning for all of us April bandsters! It makes the slight little pains that I get worth it when I can step on that scale and know that I am making my body healthier each and every day. One thing that I have started on is the Healthy Choice soups, only I am not eating the meat and vegetables, just the broth. I did try a noodle and it stayed down, with no tightening or pressure feeling. But I dont want to push my luck.
  21. Glad to hear that someone else can understand what I am feeling. Today it has happened a few times but that is about it. I hope it ends soon
  22. I ate a few noodles last night (which was the first time I ate anything and the burning sensation doesnt happen as often. It seems to occur when I get up for sitting or laying down. But I can sit without it hurting. I am suppose to be on liquids until the 21st, then pureed foods for two weeks, then onto the real food. But I was willing to try anything. If this continues, I will call my doctor and see if this is normal or if I should go see him.
  23. I went and bought some Pepto Bismol after work hoping that the pain would go away with the heartburn. Well the heartburn went away but I am left with this burning feeling that comes in spurts (only when I get up for sitting/ laying down). That pain hurts worse than the heartburn, so I have no clue. If this is still going on, I am going to call my doctor. I was doing great until today, very little pain (minus the heartburn, which I expected). But today has been horrible. Any ideas on the cause of the burning sensation? It is right where my band is located. Maybe it is the healing, not really sure.
  24. I just got hit with the nausea feeling about an hour ago. Boy, does it suck. I have been doing well, minus the heartburn. I have had three spurts of the nausea but have never gotten sick. Do you feel the same?
  25. Hello, I was banded on Monday morning as well. How are you doing? I have massive heartburn and that is about it. Pam
