Blood pressure

I have been taking medication for blood pressure for a few years now and it has always been under control even low sometimes. I was banded last Wednesday and since then I have found that my blood pressure has been high. Has anyone else had this happen, I am thinking if it doesnt settle in the next day or 2 I will see my GP. I thought it would drop not get higher.

Could it just be that they pump you full of fluids becuase you're not eating/drinking and you havent quite gotten rid of it all yet?

Almost certainly just a reaction to all you've been through - particularly if you've had pain.

It should improve over the next week.

I was banded on 4/2 and have also found my BP has been higher than usual. I think it may be related to the percocet.

Wow! Yes! I just went for my first post-op on Tues and then back again on Weds to see the nutrition and the same exact thing happened to me! I took it today and it seems to be down. So I guess this not unusual. I'm going to monitor it for a bit to see if it settles down.
