Pre-Op diet...does it get better?

I am on my first day of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet and I am HUNGRY! My shakes don't taste all that terrible, but there not all that filling either. I am in this for the long haul and determined to stick it out. But please, someone tell me my hunger will ease in a day or two!

I started my pre-op diet on Saturday the 15th and it is very hard. I find myself missing just chewing food. I got to start eating a small salad in place of 1 of the shakes today and I never thought I would love the taste of salad like I did today. My band date is the 28th of this month and I think I'll make it now. Hang in there!

Yes...it will get easier. You'll get used to it and you'll learn tricks to keep the hunger down (blend your shakes with ice - at least you can chew the ice....drink tons of Water...brush your teeth when you're hungry)

Also, you'll start losing weight which will give you motivation. Just keep picturing your liver shrinking smaller and smaller and getting you ready for a life-changing surgery!
