What does bump and other lingo mean?

I have seen some words such as bump:confused: in some messages and would someone explain what they mean:confused2:. I am new to this kind of computer jargon. Thanks Elaine:eek:

To BUMP a thread just means to post in the thread----so that it brings it back up on the front line again. Some areas of LBT move pretty fast, and people can miss a question, so if you "bump" it you're getting it back up there so someone may see it this time, or to bring a subject back to the forefront.

There is a thread, with all of the acronyms on it....I will look and see if I can find where---it explains a lot of the other initials people use.
