Getting Banded Friday!!

Hello everyone,

So I am getting banded on Friday March 7, 2008 and my nerves are outta control. All of a sudden, I am so worried about things like, breathing tubes and anesthesia, pain afterwards. I am panicking because I haven't joined a gym yet, and was supposed to do that before I had the surgery. I'm like, oh I won't have time to do it before friday with all this work I have. I'm a social worker, so talking to all my "kids" about it, and my parents. I'm just a nervous wreck. I keep telling myself I will be fine. Anyway, any advice?

hi

welcome to LBT!

discuss what you are comfortable discussing... there is no need to disclose to anyone if you dont want to. personal choice. i blabbed to everyone

good luck Friday, it was the best decision i've made for myself.

good luck! I am excited for you. Best Thing I ever did.

And as far as pain goes It wasn't bad and i am a big baby when it comes to pain.

let me know how you are doing after you feel better.

I'm on day 2 (banded yesterday) and although I'm a bit sore, I'm completely happy with my decision. The surgery was fantastic and I'm so confident with my decision I've started a blog about it (link here: Lise The Loser’s Weblog) I know you'll do fine. Be confident. Think of the new you in a year!!!

Good for you. Life will only get better. I was banded 2 months ago and it was a breeze. i am down 30 lbs and go to the gym 5 days a week. My biggest complaint right after surgery was the gas, but no biggie. My first fill will be Fri. and I am hoping it will help with my hunger. I chose to not get a fill the first month and work on changing my mindset but 900 cals a day is tough with no restriction but I am doing it. It is kind of like a self-fulfilling prophecy, the more you lose the easier it is to give up the food because you see results and then you want to move more and so on. The bills are now coming in and that is a pain but worth every penny. Best of luck and keep us posted.
