Surgery Scheduled 03/28/08

After a long journey, I have surgery date scheduled. I am looking forward to it, but have started to wonder if it is going to be as "big a deal" as I am hoping. I am 5 10 and weight 270, I have fought for years with weight and finally decided last June that I needed to do this-so now that all the insurance stuff has been met, I am ready to do it. I haven't told anyone except my husband, because he has to drive me to and from the hospital-so hoping for some support here. :rolleyes2:

My road has been long also and i finally have a date of 4/14/08. i am 5'4 and 242lbs. I have told anyone who would listen about that i am getting the band but that does not mean i am not very worried that this will just fail also. Our banding dates are very close so maybe we can just support each other! Good luck and keep in touch

Congrats P Nut  I have yet to be banded. I have 1 more appt for my pre op requirements.

I wish you the best in your surgery and a fast recovery. The band isn't a mircale worker.. it's a tool. If you use this tool right you cannot fail :w00t:

I am also scheduled on 3/28/08. I cant wait. I was scheduled for 3/12 but the Dr had a conflict arise. Hate that I have to wait but atleast it will be done before my birthday in April..... this is my present to myself.

We have the same band date... I understand what you are saying about feeling like you need support. I still haven't told anyone that I am getting the lap band. I'm really just hoping that the results will speak for themselves.:sneaky:

Congratulations. We're about the same height, I may be a tad taller. I was banded at over 380 lbs and am now down into the 230s. Best of luck on your journey.

I have the same surgery date as you and i have not told anyone @ work yet. I am going to tell before i go for surgery (working up the nerves). I start the liquid diet this Saturday so ya'll pray for me.
