Okay I am being banded tomorrow morning...my doc requires a 10 day pre-op liquid only diet. BUT...ummmmm I cheated....was with my daughter at the hospital (she has the Flu) and without even realizing it I ate a bag of chips.

Am I in trouble? Is the doc gonna open me up see chips and not do it? OH MY....stressed a lil........

As long as you have been following your liquid diet up until that point, you should be ok. Every Dr. is different though, some see "cheating" as a sign that you are not committed to a change in eating patterns and lifestyle and will refuse to proceed with the surgery. The main reason for the liquid diet is to shrink your liver, as I understand it. Surely one slip up won't have that much impact on it, but who am I to say???

My doctor had me on the Atkins diet for pre-op. I got tired of meat and cheated twice! So no worries!

I didn't have a pre-op diet, just the day before of Clear liquids to keep my tummy empty. so i think you will be ok.
