Is grilled fish a mushie?

I'm nearly three weeks out, and on the "mushie" stage. I've been having grilled fish and "steamed til they're mushie" green vegetables for lunch and dinner. Fish includes tuna steak, salmon and tilapia, all which are very flakey and soft when grilled. I'm not putting anything through a blender, and not having any problems with anything getting stuck, either. Am I blowing the mushie stage? I don't go in for a fill until Feb 28, and follow up with surgeon on Mar 3.

My doctor had fish listed in the mushie stage.

I'm on the mushy phase also, and my doctor listed fish as a mushy. But I generally eat sole because I find it to be a mushier fish than salmon or tuna, which can be very solid sometimes. Just try to mash it up before you eat it, i.e. don't eat a chunk of it at a time. That way, you're doing some of the work for your stomach a head of time.

I ate sole or catfish (baked)- these are very mosit fish and mush up very well

I really appreciate everyone who responded. I feel much better now. I guess I feel like I'm eating "normal" food instead of mushies because I was eating grilled fish a lot before the band. I think probably anything that I can cut/mash with a fork is probably going to be okay. I just saw so many people talking about putting stuff in the blender and went, "Uh-Oh!" I thought I had really messed up!

Yeah, I would consider "blender" food as truly pureed food, and I would consider fish to be more of a soft/mushy food.

It was on my list of mushies - but I found fish to be rather difficult to handle, its still not an easy food for me to eat. Its something about the texture.

I have fish in my mushie list as well.

sounds like you are doing good. Oh..you are so lucky 1st fill on Feb 28 and banded on Feb 1.....I was banded on Feb 4 but have to wait until March 19 for a fill. My doctor doesn't do until 6 weeks. darn!
