Anyone from WV???

Hi

Just wondering if there are in West Virginians out there. I'm currectly in the 6th month of my weight loss program with CAMC weight loss center. Dr. Shinn will be my surgeon as long as all gets approved by the insurance. I know several people that have had the gastric byass surgery but not a soul that has had the lapband.

Let me know if anyone out there is from WV.

Thanks

Hey I'm in Lincoln Co also, I was just banded on Dec 29 by Dr Nease in huntington.. Let us know when your date is!!!

Well, I went to the nutritionist today and he went over what the post op diet would be like and examples and also put me on a 1200 cal. daily diet until surgery. Does this sound right to you guys? I asked if I was below a certain BMI when it came time to surgery if they would still do it and he said they would because it is based on the initial visit with him. So, it looks like I'm going to have a good portion of the weight off prior to sugery or at least I hope I do. I have the Psych visit on Feb. 3rd then I hope to have the appt w/ the surgeon. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!!!!

the 1200 calorie is what I was put on from day one with portion control and 3-4 meals, it did speed up my metabolism much to my surprise when I quit skipping so many meals and doing all my eating in the evenings when I wasn't alone. Good Luck sounds like your on your way

Hey -

I'm in Charleston and was banded Monday by Dr. Shin. I'm doing fine, if a bit hungry. Very little pain or gas, although I have been burping a lot. Hope you do just as well!

Girls - I live in WV and work in VA. WVU/Hokie fans depending if I am at work or at home. Sometimes it feels like two totally different worlds.

I can relate. I live in Charleston but travel to Wheeling weekly for work ... it's hard to believe the two cities are in the same state!

Congrats football mom, I'm home and mending, I did get the gas YUCK. The night of the surgery I burped till I threw up the jello I had eaten. I'm not feeling hungry, but I have had half a bullest and 1/4 protein shake this morning. Three punces seems to be all I can handle at a time. I guess that will change as the sweeling goes down.

Hi WV Banders,

I'm get my Band on April 28th. My surgeon is Dr. Rossi and I'm having it done @CAMC Memorial.

I'm on my 2 weeks of pre-op liquids, right now.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Take care,

Jim

Hi Jim

As you can see my Dr is Dr Shin at CAMC, I'll be there on that day probably getting my next fill most likely. I've heard a lot of good things about Dr Rossi. Nice to have someone closer on the board. I'm so glad I didn't have to do that diet but it does help you start to loose so its not all bad. Stay in touch

Hi Saundra,

Thanks for the reply. Congrats on your fill. I'm already looking forward to my first one.

I've completed 5 days of liquids and I think its getting easier.

I appreciate the good words about Dr. Rossi. My PCP, who's also a life-long friend, recommended him highly. The gal in his office that I've been working with, Sara, has been super.

Please keep in touch. I'd love to hear more about your "journey"

Take care,

Jim
