I finally found exercise I like!!

At 46 I bought myself a Wii and the Dance Dance Revolution. Granted, I'm still in beginner mode and probably will be for awhile, but I have to literally STOP myself from playing

I don't use the arm things - I have arm weights I can use while watching TV - just the legs. But I am getting sore so I know muscles are being used and I'm working up a good sweat.

They have a workout mode on there that shows how many calories you've burned - haven't tried that yet.

I'll still use my treadmill and once my stomach heals I want to get a personal trainer for at least a month or so to show me what specific exercises I need to do but this is a fun diversion.

If you're bored and even slightly competitive (if I play and get an E, D or C I'll keep playing until I get a B or A), it's great!!

My son has a Wii, that sounds like good fun and a different way to excercise, I will have to try it.

We also got a Wii for christmas this year. I am very suprised to find out that I really, really enjoy the boxing. Apparently I have a lot of pent up anger and this is the perfect outlet for it. I am the knock out QUEEN. Everybody who comes over must play and get their ass kicked by ME! Too much fun. I put on my heart monitor, it turns out i get my heart rate up to 150 within the first 5 minutes and it will stay between 150-160 the entire time I am boxing. Sweat like a pig while doing it too! I started out with the boxing game that came in the game and also bought a Professional boxing where you get to be more specialized. Try it!

I'll try the boxing too  It's funny, I'll sit there and watch the clock and say to myself "OK, it's been an hour - but I really want to beat this song - 2 more times!". I never do that about any kind of exercise, lol.

Nintendo also has a program called wii fit in the works-you can get info on Amazon. Can't wait!:cheers2:

Ooooh - just signed up to be notified - thanks :tt2:

I am dying to get the Wii Fit but cant get any info on when it will be out. I have gone to several stores but nobody knows, all they can say is " I heard sometime in feb". Feb is almost over!

Finally I have a reason to use my son's wii. Even know when I can do it, the couple of hours between me getting home from work and when DH and DS get home. Great idea thanks
