Post Op Clear Liquids How can you heal?

I was banded 1/25 and nutritionist has me on a clear liquid diet for 1 week and then on to mushies the next week. I can have Clear liquids including juice, broth, sf Jello, sf popsickles, and Water. My incisions don't feel bad, but I feel so weak and I think I really have hunger pangs instead of surgery pain. I can't see how I'll heal on this kind of diet, I mean that is maybe 100 calories a day. I haven't had much juice it goes right through me. Yesterday I added skim milk and have been tolerating it well.

Did anyone drink Protein shakes after or what. I'll be calling this morning when they open to ask what to do.

Advice appreciate.

Renee

My Doc and nutritionist have stressed that the first month after banding is all about healing and not to worry about losing weight. Isopure is on their list and has been very helpful to people thier first week. I am not banded yet, will be on 3-6-08. I am planning to stock on Isopure. They have a few different flavors, they taste horrible warm, need to be icy. I hope it all works out for you.

Panda, I'm going to use Beneprotein. It's odorless, tasteless and has no flavor. Just add it to your liquids, hot or cold. I've been test driving it this week in my water w/crystal light and I have no idea it's there. Just getting some extra protein. You can put it in broths, vitamin water, jello-if you make own, stir in soups, sauces, anything. It's sold at Walgreen's in my area. They keep it in the pharmacy section, I had to ask for it. Here's the link for you to check it out: Beneprotein Instant Protein Powder | Resource | Walgreens

My surgery is Monday, so I'm getting ready! Best of luck to you!!

I have a great soup cookbook which I've never really worked with - sounds like a great time to start... I should do some clear soups or consommes or what have you, and freeze them ahead of time.

Really, THANKS!!!

What a great idea, I am going to do that before I my surgery. Then I don't have worry about it. Thanks
