'Skinny Bitch' Revolution!

Anyone here read the book [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Skinny-Bitch-Kim-Barnouin/dp/0762424931/ref=pd_sim_b_img_1]'Skinny Bitch'[/ame] or the follow-up [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Skinny-Bitch-Kitch-Kick-Ass-Recipes/dp/0762431067]'Skinny Bitch in the Kitch'[/ame]?

These books have totally changed how I veiw food, and I am now vegetarian... working on Vegan status. And I'm buying organic foods when available.

I'm also putting forth an effort to read ALL food labels... It's amazing to me how many of the 'veggie' foods (like Boca and MorningStar and GardenBurger) are NOT Vegan! Most of their products use milk, egg, and cheese! There are good totally meatless 'veggie burger' items out there... it's all about reading ingrediants and "trusting no one" as they say in the books.

Anyone have anymore good Vegan books or cookbooks you'd like to recommend?

I tried my waffles yesterday evening , with a bit of organic peanut butter (figured it was better than using syrup) and it was wonderful. I can't wait to try the others.

I have been vegetarian for 10 years and vegan for 3. It is soooo easy to be both! Also much healthier and better for the environment. Vegans can eat anything that did not come from an animal or processed without using animal products. Tofu scramble is awesome by the way. Also annabanana vegans can eat all the fruit they want AS LONG as it does not have ADDED sugar, the natural sugars in fruit are fine. Also skinny bitch is awesome and some recommendations for other books are THE COMPASSIONATE COOK, VIVE LE VEGAN, VEGAN WITH A VENGEANCE, VEGAN CUPCAKES TAKE OVER THE WORLD, HOW IT ALL VEGAN, and finally ANYTHING BY COOKBOOK AUTHOR CHRISTINA PIRELLO!!!!! She rocks! Also google her and read her amazing story! If you want any great recipes hit me up and I will mos def email you some great easy recipes!!!

Hey Bridget! Thanks for your 2cents! I'd love to have some of your recipes. My email is szn0512@yahoo.com

I've looked at a few of those books you mentioned on Amazon, I'm planning on getting a few in the next few weeks... I"m waiting to win the lottery... or at least to have a few extra bucks after I pay bills... Man I HATE being an adult sometimes. I miss being able to put my wants and desires before my needs. Haha. Thats another rant though...

Let me get some of the recipes together and I will send them to the both of you! Yeah growing up sucks sometimes! Just let me know if you have any special food allergies OR things that you dont eat!
