Unrealistic Ideals

I am pretty rational person, and I just spent "hours" going through the photo threads, so I believe in this process. That being said, there is something in my little mind that is having a hard time with the fact that I had the surgery on 12/20/07 and I am not "skinny" yet. I think it is perpetuated by the looks of coworkers that say to me, "she had surgery, but I can't really tell." I wish I could fall asleep and wake up a month down the road. I started this journey at 287 and weighed 261.5 this morning, and my rational mind says "wow", but the last 5 days I have gone up and down on the scale and am up a pound. I am doing everything right.

Now, if I can only get my rational mind to take over.

Thanks for listening.

Afraid of being a quack was the reason I didn't tell anyone but my family.

A few have mentioned that my face looks slimmer, but that's about it. Now, if only my body would cooperate and drop some weight.. that would be divine!!!

It so nice to know that I'm not alone..

Huggles

I called my Dr this weekend because I was getting stressed out about not losing ANYTHING. he told me not to worry about it right now. to think more about eatting enough protein then the other foods and making sure I was not drinking while I was eatting.

I hear ya! Going through the same thing. Even though I finally reached the 260's today, it is still in my head, I'll be fat FOREVER.

(((hugs))). I'm quite sure all of the successful bandsters have gone through the same feelings.

Have you all taken your measurements? Bet you find that you have lost inches all over. My weight isn't dropping as fast as I would like, but my favourite shirt pre-op (which fit just right) now needs to be taken in by 3 inches on each side seam:biggrin:

I think we need to start looking at our NSV's instead of the scales.

I need a fill I'm hungry and am eating the wrong foods. I think I'm in a funk. I was trying and trying I cannot get out of the 250's and that was my main goal I started at 286 and down to 253-256 depends on which d!*@m day. I don't go for my fill until Feb. 11th. I can't put into words how frustrated I am!!!!!
