I live near you and chose to use Dr. Mehta in New Brunswick, surgery was at Somerset Medical Center. It takes me about an hour to get to his office and he has a great support group as well as wonderful office staff. I'm not sure how many people he's banded as of right now. As of my surgery he has yet to loose anyone, including bypass patients. If you google Mehta Bariatric Center you'll be able to find him.

If you're willing to travel to NYU, Dr. Fielding is a pioneer and after having surgery with him two weeks ago I can tell you that I am most satisfied with the service there. Their staff is so helpful and informative and they cover EVERY step for you to make the process easy. He has an excellent success rate and an excellent rate of people NOT having slipped bands. I don't know where your town is in NJ but if it's anywhere closer to the Delaware side then the Delmarva Bariatric Center is absolutely wonderful. They have a great program with awesome results. They have offices in Delaware and Maryland. Just tossing that out there in case you are close enough to consider it.

Where are you looking to go??? Are you going thru insurance? Self pay?? All these things should be considered when looking at having this surgery.... plus the experience of the surgeon.
