grocery list

Ok, surgery is a couple weeks away. I've got quite a good list from my nutritionist of what to stock up on before surgery for my liquid phase.

But if you had it to do all over again, what would your last-trip-to-the-store grocery list look like to prepare for after surgery? What items did you wish you had more of, and what didn't you use?

Thanks. I'm sure this will help me alot.

daisydoodle I am glad you asked this question.I am trying so hard to get everthing I need before surgery. I think some suggestions would be good. What helped you all out after surgery with eating ,pain relief coping ect...

Here's a few:

Phase one

Beef/chicken broth

Popcicles

Protein drinks

Jello

juice

Phase two

Cream of Wheat

oatmeal

Cream Soups

Refried Beans

Cottage cheese

Salsa

pudding

To take to the hospital:

Chapstick

Listerine strips

Pillow for ride home

Loose fitting clothing

I personally bought too much Soup, a can will last you a long time. I ate a lot of popcicles though.

I'm always pushing fuzzy booties. I got pink ones so my feet wouldn't get dirty in the hospital. And a phone card if you're going to Mexico. My cell wouldn't work and I couldn't make outgoing long distance calls on the hospital phone. Girl without phone, not good.
