ESG Surgery 03/14/23!

'm so excited (nervous, anxious and scared too) that my ESG is in 15 days!! ? I have put having WLS for soOOOo long, it's very surreal that it is so close. I have been stockpiling protein shakes, powders, soups and have all my supplements and medications in order. I feel as though I am ready for this but am still unsure how I will be able to abide by the strict protein intake for the 45 days as it (and I"m sure all protocols require everyone) me to drink 8oz of protein every other hour from 8am to 9pm and water on the off hour. I work in an office setting that doesn't allow me to have food liquids at my desk (secure location) and have to excuse myself to the break room for food. Breaks are not every hour and I can't imagine I can guzzle the protein drinks in less than 5 mins. I will have to be creative?! It's going to be a LONG 45 days! I'm thinking of using the protein waters, has anyone every had any of them? Any suggestions on any of them? Thanks! ?

  • I like the Premier Protein Clear, they have tropical punch and peach, they are pretty easy to get down. Congratulations!

  • I’m right there with you! My ESG is the day after yours. I haven’t bought too much stuff as I’m not sure what I will feel like eating/sipping afterward. I’m thinking room temperature hydration water

Surgery was yesterday- man oh man- was not expecting the amount of pain and pressure today. Accompanied by bloating and nausea. Add to that- 3 feet of snow and no power! My throat is so sore as well.

@L. Knight Happy to hear your surgery went well and you are doing great! I have a zoom call with my nutritionist tomorrow, looking forward to it, have some questions answered, etc. Just found out I have a work trip coming up in two weeks, it's only for 2 days so that's not too bad but for all the crushing of pills and sipping involved, may pose to be difficult. It's one thing to work in your own company's building but going into another agency - not sure I feel comfortable excusing myself to crush some pills and mix them and sip/gag them down-lol. Six weeks can't come fast enough! How are you doing with getting your fluids in? Doing ok?

Good morning, I am wondering if you would update how you're all doing since surgery? I've just started looking into this procedure, and trying to see if it's the right fit for me.

Thanks in advance!
