Struggling with diarrhea

I am 7 days post-op, had several problems. My gastric bypass went well, but the found a hiatal hernia and liver problems, on top of that the gas didn't dissipate as normal it went into my face, neck, chest, heart and lung. Ended up with a partially collapsed lung and needed a chest tube. I'm on a ton of meds that have to be crushed and taken every 6 hours. I can't stomach anything but water and I apologize for the gross details but now I'm struggling with horrible diarrhea.

I just want to feel better, has anyone run into this problem.

Thank you, that's great to know. I'm extremely exhausted and drained from everything. However I keep focusing on the ultimate goal....?

As far as the diarrhea, I had it bad for a week or so after surgery also. As soon as I drank or "ate" anything but water I would be in the bathroom within minutes. It did pass and now I am more regular than ever.

I wish you the best!

I was surprised by the exhaustion. It lasted until week 4. Stopped once I got to soft foods. Finally getting food- calories for energy. Be kind to yourself as you are healing. Don't plan much in the first few weeks. If grocery shopping grab a few prioritized things and go home. I did too much walking the store and when I went to checkout could barely stand. Twice I almost left my cart of groceries to go home.
